Photographer’s Note
In Transylvania, we have cities inhabited mainly by Romanians and cities inhabited mainly by Hungarians(Szekely). Now, due to the historical background, these two etnies, don't always work well together. We don't have any direct conflicts, but there is a great psychological pression. This is why cities like Cluj and Targu Mures, where the population is roughly 50% Romanians 50% Hungarians are extremly interesting.
take Cluj for example....You have a central square with a great Catholic Church and a huge statue of hungarian king Matei Corvin. Some hundred meters away, you have another central square with a beautiful romanian church and another huge statue of a romanian revolutionary...who fought against austrian-hungarian domination...
................................................
Avram Iancu was a Transylvanian Romanian lawyer who played an important role in the local chapter of the Austrian Empire Revolutions of 1848–1849. He was especially active in the Ţara Moţilor region and the Apuseni Mountains. The rallying of peasants around him, as well as the allegiance he paid to the Habsburgs got him the moniker Crăişorul Munţilor ("The Prince of the Mountains").

A puzzling picture.
The monument is so dark that one can only guess
what it looks like when fully lit by the sun.
The compo's perfect: the water streams take the eye to the monument.
I also like your note. It's so strange that people have ethnic conflicts. I live in Russia, which is a multinational country, in the part where ethnic diversity is quite rich. We never have ethnic conflicts.
