Photographer's Note

Here is a very small example of some of the rich paintings in Bica church. It is stuffed full of this exquisit artwork which I beleive is 300 years old as the church was built in 1674. Apparently in the 18th century the Tartars invaded this region and burnt down most of the wooden churches so this is a rare survival. Mind you its not such an easy village to get to and is hidden in a limestone bowl in a hill.
