This year, the snow wasn't as it used to be. In winter we had warm days and some rains. The South of Romania has a strong deficiency of water in the soil for almost a year...I can only hope the thing will get back to narmal.

Hello Daniel - The patches of melting snow lit by the warm sunlight seem to agree with your note and illustrate your point about a mild winter. In Namibia we have had almost no rain this season and the days are very hot and uncomfortable. A change in weather cycles I think. An attractive shot of a winter that wasn't! Warm regards rosemary

The weather is not as it should be anywhere in Europe I think. As Serge says, there could be more surprises still to come. In the meantime, we can enjoy this very pleasant landscape composition. An agreeably lit image with good colours and sharpness.

nice the view of the area with the melted snows to make it this Winter more warm and without colds.Here in Athens too the weather is very nice and during the day the temperature is about 13-18o C.

beautiful picture! Although it was taken in the middle of winter it has a very distinctive spring atmosphere. Makes me feel like the winter's over. Very nice perspective.

When a part of Europe suffer of the drought , another get too much rains ! In western France , where I live , this is the most wet winter since a long time . And there is o lot of snow in the Alps . Very different in Romania , as we can see on this fine picture .

Hello Daniel,
The patches of remaining snow create an interesting pattern along the hillside. In the mountains of Romania I would expect to see more snow on New Year's Day, but the climate is behaving strangely everywhere nowadays. Anyway this is a fine view and the light and colours are great.

Hello Daniel,
Unfortunately here in Greece we didin't had a tough winter. The climate has changed tremendously. Such period the mountains must be filled snow. A sad composition about all of us.

such a simple picture and so attractive! I love the format you chose as well as the whole composition. The warm light definietly makes it really attractive and adds some "soul" to the image. Great contrast between remainings of the snow and the sun lit grass.

Not much snow left indeed here. While you have a lack of snow, we have got more than our share this winter.
The band of snow in the foreground leads the eye nicely in to the beautiful landscape.

This is a beautiful photo, with lovely colours, light and a good low POV. But it also documents a sad fact of climate change, a worrying thing for all of us around the world. An excellent and valuable photo with exquisite depth in every sense of the word.
