Photographer’s Note
The story of this man it's speechless...
He was thrown in prison in the mid '60s by the communists, because he and a friend of his one night in a bar, after some drinks, they pulled down from a wall the communist flag and laughed. He was sentenced 4 years in prison and he was in every prison in Romania, and who knows in those times the life behind bars was a living hell...So, after he got out of jail he becamed a bus driver until 1990 when he retired...
He has one daughter, wich doesn't look for him, he is living with a social help of 150 $ / month. Only the 2 nephews that he got are looking for him and want to help him, but he refuses them every time telling them that "life is already hard for them and they don't need another old man to carry on their back"...
The only thing that he wants is: the days to pass faster...
Sad story, but in our days this story becomes much more common and heard....
That's why i've named the photo "It's gone...", because all the hope and love for life he had, are gone...
Hope you like it,
Marin

Hello Marin
a very strong and evocative image. This composition is worth a thousand words, truly. On a technical basis, I really appreciate the way you've chosen to put a rather bit part of this white wall into your composition.
Best wishes for 2009
Emmanuel
