Oggi amici di TE vi porto ad Alba Iulia, un'altra città della Transilvania.
Si trova sul sito dell'antica città di Apulia, fondata dai Romani nel II sec.
Fu sede nel 1918 della proclamazione dell'unione della Transilvania alla Romania e dell'incoronazione del Re Ferdinando I di Romania nel 1922.
Essendo una sede vescovile ed un importante centro politico, militare ed ecclesiastico, la città raggiunse l'apice della sua potenza tra il 1542 e il 1690, quando fu la capitale del Principato Indipendente di Transilvania e residenza dei Principi.
Alba Iulia è famosa per la splendida Cittadella al centro della città che, tra un miscuglio di vestigia asburgiche,racchiude edifici universitari, chiese e musei.
La Cittadella è un complesso fortificato, costruito fra 1714 e 1738 su progetto dell'architetto italiano Giovanni Morando Visconti, le cui mura hanno una lunghezza di circa 12 km., con una forma a stella e comprendono sette torri angolari.
Quella ripresa nella foto è la porta a sud ,primo cancello della fortezza, che all'inizio di una rampa porta all'ingresso vero e proprio.
Ha la forma di un arco trionfale con tre ingressi ed è decorata con sculture barocche inspirate dalla mitologia greca.

Today friends of TE i bring you to Alba Iulia, another city of Transylvania.
The city, that is found on the site of the ancient city of Apulum, founded by the Romans in the II century, it was center in the 1918 of the proclamation of the union of Transylvania to Romania and of the crowning of the King Ferdinando I of Romania in the 1922.
Being an Episcopalian center and an important political center, soldier and cleric, the city reached the apex of its power between 1542 and 1690, when it was the capital of the Independent Principality of Transylvania and residence of the Principles.
Alba Iulia is famous for the splendid citadel to the center of the city that contains university buildings, churches and museums.
The citadel is a strengthened complex, whose boundaries, you build among 1714 and 1738 on project of the architect Italian Giovanni Morando Visconti, they have a length of around 12 km., they have a form to star and they include seven angular towers.
That resumption in the photo is it brings to south, first gate of the fortitude, that brings to the real entry of the citadel to the beginning of a ramp
It's have the shape of a triumphal arch with three entrances, decorated with baroque sculptures inspired by the greek mythology.

Ciao Maurizio. Il dettaglio risalta bene sulle lavorazioni nel marmo bianco e sulle statue. Bel contrasto con i rossi dei concelli di legno. Buona profondità oltre l'arco con strada e muro in prospettiva.

credo abbia ragione Francesco nel dire che è inutile criticare la tecnica di una foto fatta da chi in fatto di tecnica la sa molto lunga.
La porta è molto bella ed i dettagli nitidi.

Stiamo e almeno io per un periodo starò all'estero.
In questa foto riemerge una architettura un po retrò comune ed mitleuropea.
La nota è esaustiva ma lascia aperte molte strade in quanto costruita forse in un momento che i progettisti seguivano schemi, pur vari ma inquadrati.
Una testimonianza di diffusione artistica in europa

Interesting composition to show a arch gate in mixed style between baroque and greek, but the wood fences I not sure belong to which style...hihi, good pov to show balancing of symmetry, it seem have many historical architectures in these Romanian cities, thanks for sharing.

Hi Mauzurio,
I think it's all to easy to imagine Romania as an incredibly run down place, and forget it actually has a very rich history and architecture to go with it (in my mind anyway!), but you've captured some great shots of the place. I like the symmetry of the place, and the shot is good quality considering it looks like you were shooting into the light. Perhaps if you had just stepped left a little, the photo would have been perfectly symmetrical and you would have been just that little more away from the sun and got some more detail from the sky. just an idea :)
