Photographer's Note
In the fifteenth century is mentioned in the chronicle of Sukrullah, Enisala Fortress, recalling the cities conquered in the Dobrogea campaign in 1388-1389, by Bayezid I Ildaram. At that time, the lake was Babadag combined with Lake Razim and this in turn was just a great golf on the Black Sea. In Donavici nautical maps, Cerneti, and in nautical maps slippery Dunavat Canal was navigable. With a favorable location, Enisala Fortress was placed more or less in central Dobrogea, controlling both land and maritime routes. It is assumed on the basis that the village identified the NV city should there be a port.
Closure is attributed to the Genoese fortress, if we consider monetary findings and clear analogies which can be in terms of wall construction techniques with the Genoese in Constanta and the Lower Citadel of Harsova. The closure of the city can be placed in the second half of the thirteenth century or first half of the next century. Black Sea property became almost exclusively in terms of trade Genoese after the Treaty of Nymphea in 1261. Genoese were the only ones who had to hand both motivation and means to raise a fortress. It is very likely to be used by school Byzantine craftsmen.
Using numismatic material found during the time the Enisala, ceramics typical "feudal" of origin "Byzantine province, dating between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. Pick city is located Harsova time in the last quarter of century XIII. The central position, lack of economic activity, destination obviously political, administrative, military, could indicate that the city was actually the residence of a local leader.
Captured in the Ottoman campaign of 1388-1389, the fortress managed to maintain its position until 1396, when Mircea the Old conquers northern Dobrogea. Mehmed I will defeat the fortress's garrison from 1416-1417 and will do restoration work because, as we say Sukrullah, the cities of here "were ruined because giaours mindless". The main entrance with a width of 3 m and a height of 4m has a double arch. At the NE and SE corners there are two hexagonal towers and mid-N and E sides of each square plan tower.
