This is the way to make an animal portrait, see I think people distinguish pictures of animals from pictures of people too much, this is a portrait, you didn't just take a closeup of AN owl you took a portrait of THIS owl, and it is wonderful, just like it is hard to get a good facial expression on a samll Indian boys face it is hard to get a good one on an animal, to capture them right, but you did.! His (or her) stare is so piercing and the total lack of movement within the frame makes him look almost majestic!
I really like it, a favorite.

cata claritate!! un focus excelent! si culorile au iesit atat de naturale...
cel mai mult imi plac ochii aceia frumosi si mari si verzi, asemenatori la culoare cu frumzele de ficus mai indepartate.
dar stiai ca auzul este cel care impresioneaza la aceste pasari de noapte... sunt un adevarat scanner sonic al directiei spre care privesc...

Technically good from all points of view but it matches better TN or TL.
P.S. Its glance reminds me about Dumitru Dragomir.
