this is lovely, so much east-european, but with that carpatian flavor which i like so much...kind of trendy destination, i think but not so popular...
interesting effect with that foggy atmosphere here, and the b/w underlining the graveness of the scene...

Une très belle photo de reportage. La composition est impeccable et le traitement n&b tip top.
L'expression de cette femme à gauche interpelle et on se demande ce qu'elle fixe comme cela.

really strong foreground with these women in those country clothes...not chic city girls for sure:) The background is really attractive too, that bares trees, the sadness of the scene...strong work.

Une scène de la vie à la campagne très intéressante.
Je pense que même en Roumanie, d'ici quelques dizaines d'années, ce genre de scène sera rare : les gens vont finir par se "déguiser" en fringues occidentaux, et une certaine unité culturelle va finir par disparaître. Déjà en Pologne, il est rare de voir les femmes à la campagne avec leur fichus...Pourtant, dans mon enfance, elles en portaient toutes.
J'aime bien la scène, le cadre et la lumière brumeuse.

Hi Francine, an image comin' from another time and another world, with all the women with black dress and the covred hair comin' out deom the Mass.
Ecellent the use of the b/w, that with a strongest contrast i think should be powerfull.

Splendide cette scene pleine d'atmosphere, Francine. Je sais que tu exceles dans les portraits serres, de'enfants ar exemple mais je trouve ce travail d'ensemble vraiment extra. Le ragard franchement cinematographique de cette femme a gauche... c'est quelquechose ca.

Bonjour Francine,
Le passage en N&B donne beaucoup d'impact à cette image. Une belle scène de la vie quotidienne de ces femmes d'Europe de l'Est qui aurait tout à fait sa place pour illustrer un article de journal. Belle photo de reportage!

Bonjour, chère Francine,
Pas de frivolité pour ces femmes par rapport aux tenues vestimentaires. Les traditions perdurent. Cette image retranscrit très bien l'ambiance et les usages de cette région.
Le noir et blanc convient parfaitement pour cette composition.

une belle scene de ces femmes qui mangent apres la messe ... pas de pot au feu ou de bon plat mijoté mais un simple sandwich de pain??? dommage;-(

It's so lovely, Francine... a tradition that has been adhered to for such a long time, and so it will, I hope. When I look at it, time for me stands still, beauty is everywhere, peace is what I sense in all my cells. No need to hurry, no need to worry, no fear of loneliness, when you see these people.
