Photographer’s Note
Try to imagine a person accustomed to today’s frantic lifestyle... a contemporary whose days begin with the shrill sound of an alarm clock, whose eyes are always on her watch, who is always in a hurry... always late or running against time,...who needs to get to an important meeting on time....but I really enjoyed this simple view in a traditional old romanian house... a simple fire in the stove..fire made with wood and corn cobs! Please try,my friends
This is the beauty of life - simplicity!!!

Hi Isabela!
"As vrea sa simt ca si crezi in aceste cuvinte!" said a friend of mine to me once doubting the truthfulness of some statements I was making at that time. "I wish I believed you" I could say now. Very nice note.
I love these fire macros. I have a bunch of them myself in my archive and some day I might just post one on TE too. I love these half rainbow color gradients, red-orange-yellow, and the realy strong contrast in the picture between the hotest flames and the cool background or the not yet touched by the fire wood blocks. Composition wise I don't like the missing peaks of those flames in the left upper corner but it's not a big deal. Nice shot.
By the way, do you know why you can only see half of the rainbow spectrum in the wood fire stoves? It's a very simple explanation. Scientifically it's called "black body radiation" and of course the interaction with the eye is important too.
The wood becomes bright, visible as fire, because it gets hot. When stuff is just warm we can't see this radiation though it still exists. As something gets hotter the radiation becomes visible as red (the begining of the visible spectrum) then as yellow (as the bunch of radiation "colors" shifts more and more) and eventually it turns white which means that it contains all the visible colors of the spectrum (those we know by name since childhood) but they're just mixed up and we can't see them separate without help. If you used a prism to look at a white flame you could see'em all. The answer to the question I posed above is that wood can't get hotter than it usually does. Let's assume it could get hotter. Then the bunch of "colors" will move even further such that eventually there will be very little yellows and reds and even less of the invisible, infrared "colors". You will start seeing the greens and blues as the bunch of colors moves toward ultraviolet (UV radiation). However these blues and greens will be harder to see as everything is whitish due to the presence of some reds and yellows. So in a very very very hot fire you might see some greenish or bluish colors but very faint (something like the way a light bulb's light is yellowish) as you are blinded by the hot fire. Hope you and some of your visitors will find this explanation interesting.
TFS, Isabela.

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah
The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah
You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire

A fire is always nice to see, but even more so to sit next too.
What makes this image so pleasing is the shelled out corn on the cob in the fire.
An amazing amount of shades of red, orange and black.
Happy New Year.
India I can visit time and time again but for short periods. Romania, well I could walk the lenght and breadth and probably not get tired of it. Mind you those Himalayas, they are like a beacon, almost nothing so beautiful but then I was always a mountaineer.

Hi Isabela, Happy new year to you and welcome to the big EU family !
I'm fascinated by the fire, thi is a nice close up of it and the alternance of dark and warm areas makes the warmth of it radiate even better, a view that should please every cat and us as well of course, very well exposed.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Wow... This is a great shot for many reasons. First of all the color and then there is the motion of the flames. The feeling I get from this shot is "timeless" I think your note is also great too. We sometimes need to slow down and look at the simpler things in life

Hi Isabela.
Nice close up of this fireplace, very nicely exposed. The corn cobs looks almost like we can see through them.
