Photographer’s Note

Stigmata is the plural of the Greek word στίγμα, stigma, a mark or sign originally used for identification of something or somebody belonged to an owner.

Looking at this image the deeply religious, hardworking people of the land of Covasna came into my mind. [Photo was taken in town of Sfantu Gheorghe/Sepsiszentgyorgy centre of Covasna/Kovaszna county where 3/4 of the inhabitants are ethnic Hungarian and are many Romanian, Roma, Jewish people are living here.]

This unusual composition [focused on statue of crucified Christ patched corrosion by backgrounded with little window, non-decorated wall] expresses me the cornerstones of the everyday people of Eastern Carpathian mountain: Home and Christ.

The reflecting patch of sky on the window seems as liquide as once blood-paint or rusty water of stigmas.
