Stavropoleos Monastery, a photo from Bucuresti, East

I am sure you already seen many pictures of this church but I would like to share again my version, which was taken a week ago, when was very nice weather, sunny and warm together with family Sorescu.

The church was built in 1720 during the Prince Nicolae Mavrocordat reign (1719-1730). This church has it own library with thousand of old books and manuscripts. Those who involved at Stavropoleos Monastery not only pray but also work and study. They restore old books, vestments and icons, make embroidery, translate books, edit old music on computer and computerise the library.

Located strategically in Lipscani and it is very beautiful, interesting building and rich of history.

Apa Kabar May!

Mostly all I know of Bucharest is the terrible earthquake they had there in 1977. There are so few uploads from this interesting city, even after the departure of the restrictive Soviet regime & Nicolae Ceaușescu in 1989. The people add scale and animate the scene. I like the angled pov on this old church. Terima kasih!

Une très belle architecture ancienne qui se marie bien avec les structures plus récentes. Une image lumineuse et bien cadrée. La présence de promeneurs donne de l'animation à l'ensemble.
