Photographer’s Note

This is an absolutely practical but a bit funny solution to dry boots after a rainy weekend on fences.

In villages of Eastern Carpathian mountain usually only the main road has bituminous or concrete carpet or cobblestoned other ones are cart-roads, so such boots are ofter dirty, and such still life can be seen very often.

I surprised on the associating grotesque connotations of this image, the genre maybe still-life or aka in French [Romania is explicitely francophone county] "natura morte" [literally "dead nature"] and the phrase of "kicking the bucket" coming into my mind, which in Hungarian [currently there are still living Hungarians in minority here] sounds like this "feldobja a talpat" [literally "he throws up his soles"].

In this still life you can see boots not soles, so it is rather comic then dramatic image. I hope you enjoy it. ;=))
