Photographer’s Note

Ghimes Faget [in Hungarian Gyimesbukk] is a silent little village deep in Romania. Here go railroads through Eastern Carpathian mountain from Transylvania to Moldva. Mostly Hungarian tourists visit this place because once here laid the "thousend-year-old boarder" of Hungarian Kingdom until 1918.

Under the ruins of castle from 17th century
nowadays hardworking, poor people are living in their little houses among forests and fields of Ghimes mountain. Stormy 20th century sometimes redrew the map of Europe but in these days people are living in very similar way to their grandparents.

I chose this title, because local impressionist artists about 100 years ago, like Imre Nagy made some nice "plain air" paintings with similar object, while currently this kind of "cuisine plein air" is not the same fashionable barbecuing what you mean on it in rich Western Europe but an everyday routine, not a funny party but real life.
