Photographer’s Note

A local fisherman in the beach of Monte Gordo, in the Eastern side of the Algarve, on this shot you see him pulling a rod with a net attached in order to drag the cockles that are found in this region which is a wonderful local delicacy, one can only catch them in low tide when the flatest side of the beach is accessible, although you can see this man just by the shoreline, they can also go chest deep, where the bigger molluscs can be found.

I decided to give this shot a black and white treatment in order to enfasise the dramatic rough sea that gives a special atmosphere, thank you all for dropping by.

Olá João,

Eu daria ao titulo "Vida dura", é mesmo uma vida muito dura a destes pescadores algarvios que se dedicam à apanha de bivalves. A atmosfera é muito forte e pesada a a escolha do p&b acrescentou mais sentimento.Boa "captura" da vida diária.

Para o que esta foto quer transmitir, ficou muito bem com o homem em silhueta e a forte ondulação atrás.
O horizonte está um pouco inclinado, mas tendo em conta o ambiente da foto nem é muito grave.
