Photo was taken since a point of view to seem an optic illusion. This photographic angle is only possible because the Bridge is very big and has an accented curve.

This newest bridge in Lisbon, Ponte Vasco da Gama, enables north-south traffic to bypass the Portuguese capital and was built as an alternative route to the 25 de Abril Bridge, frequently congested with traffic jams especially during the rush-hour periods. This seemingly never-ending bridge is a Cable-stayed bridge. The builders took special steps to protect a local bird sanctuary. Vasco da Gama is the largest bridge in Europe with a length of 17.2 km (10 miles), 10 km of which are over the Tagus River. It was inaugurated on the 4th of April 1998. Located right next to the Nations Park (former site of the Expo 98 - world-wide exposition) it got its name on the same year of the 5th centenary of the arrival of Vasco da Gama to India. The bridge was designed to withstand an earthquake four times greater than the 1755 earthquake that devastated Lisbon.

Excelente POV. Interessante o efeito causado pela curva da ponte. Melhorou bastante o efeito causado pelo mau resize da 1ª versão. Acho que tem pouca definição (sim,eu sei que tem bué de zoom). Fiz um WS. Espero que gostes. Abraço. Paulo

Aqui está uma foto muito criativa mas falta-lhe alguma pimenta. Teria ficado muito melhor com uma palete de cores mais rica. Gosto muito como te disse mas poderia estar muito melhor

Olá Filipe, esta vale pela originalidade do PDV. Está sem dúvida melhor que a original, mas ainda assim falta qualquer coisa para nos agarrar - não sei se um exercício de preto e branco com contraste ficaria bem. O WS proposto parece melhor, pelo menos na rotação, se bem que menos natural também. Seja como for e apesar do que disse, gosto bastante do efeito visual lá atrás. É uma ponte bonita, leve e elegante, se bem que estes pilares duplos não sejam tão atraentes nesta vista.

Olá Filipe,
Realmente nem parece que é só uma ponte, mas duas. A perspectiva é mesmo espantosa e única, parabéns pela escolha do PdV.
Não é que cheguem a ser defeitos, mas parece-me que a nitidez (sharpness) e o contraste/brilho (parece que estamos a vê-la com óculos escuros) poderiam ser melhores, mas imagino que a objectiva e a focal muito longa são as principais culpadas disso. A inclinação do horizonte quase que passa despercebida por causa da "geometria".
De uma maneira geral, prefiro esta versão ao WS do Juntas, embora ache que a luminosidade do WS está melhor.

imagem interessante da ponte Vasco da Gama. O POV dando a parte anterior com estes pilares enormes e depois a curva com o vao ao fundo deu um belo contraste architectonico. O que me incomoda bastante nesta foto e a sensacao de estar tombada para direita. Isto faz parte do 'optic illusion'?

un ángulo del puente muy distinto, es arriesgado y creativo y nos ofrece una vista fantástica de gran profundidad de campo. El fuerte componente gráfico y la perspectiva arquitectónica conforman una fotografía artística!

Lovely soft blue tones to this unique presentation of the great bridge. Wonderful POV that alows for a view of the bridge after it makes a sharp turn and then continues its journey acroos the wide bay.

The POV is well chosen, it took me a while to realize it was the same bridge in the BG as I don't know the place! good picture quality and almost monochrome tones. The horizon has a slight tilt, but that is very simple to adjust!

Hi Filipe, indeed if you had darkened the shadow tones the optical illusion would be complete! Your POV is very good and effective with an adequate DOF for the background bridge.
