So, I'm back to on eof my favourite themes and once more I'm posting this little church, that is one of my favourite.
This little hermitage is devoted to Our Lady, in this case of Aracelis, that means something like Altar of the Sky. The place is magic, it's situated on the top of a hill (almost 300 metres high) and besides the wonderful view, it's also a good place for birdwatching. It was the first time I went there in the morning, this time I tried to get there at around 07.00 a.m., when the light was still very weak and the plains around were still covered with fog. No one around, only the birds and the cattle could be heard.
This is an ancient place of worship, the pilgrimage takes place in September and by that time, many farmers come here to ask for good crops and for rain.
It has also a particularity,it's situated on the border between Castro Verde and Mertola, as far as I know, the church is situated in the municipality of Castro Verde and the churchyard is situated in the municipality of Mertola.

Ana, it is certainly lovely. Your description of your outing makes it all very appealing. The early hours helped the white on the building not be so blazing and overall it is a very good capture, great work.

Hi Ana,
Really like this little church.
Very nicely captured and very well composed.
The Alentejo region is such an amazing area in Portugal: a paradise for photographers.
Regards from Belgium.

PAulo

Olá Ana,

Amo estes brancos e luz alentejana. Boa fotografia , bom PDV.

Um abraço amigo,
Filipe

Ciao Ana,
what suggestive place, gives to me a sense of peace and calm. Technically it is an excellent image, because it is difficult to manage so well the reflex of the light on the whites walls. Good job, compliments.
Ciao
Paolo.

Hi Ana,
That is fine framing and POV to give maximum impact to the view! The exposure on the white walls is fine and no burning apparent. Colors and sharpness excellent

Hola Ana,

jorge
