Photographer’s Note
Old trams of Lisbon are world famous, running on the steep and tightly curved streets of the city. Two axle short wheel base construction of some of the oldest tram models negotiates well these curves, but doesn't exactly offer the smoothest or most silent ride. Tourists obviously love them, I'm not that sure about daily commuters.
Most of the trams carry advertising liveries. While some of them look quite striking, at least this one is faithful to the yellow background colour of the trams.

Hi Kari.
What about your Easter Holidays? I hope they'll be right.
Nice picture in this simple composition. Well done!

I think the problem is more delicate with residents than commuters. Anyway, the trams have been part of Lisbon daily life for more than a century and I believe they are there to stay. Maybe on a much more modern version, faster and quieter. It is a nice shot with a good yellow.

Hi Kari,
Never in my whole life i would take a picture from this pov. But to see it from others how they look at certain objects and present it in a way they saw it with their own eyes is what i like to see. I know you are a train addict, so a tram is not that far away from the way it is build, for that it makes it interesting to you. Glad you left some large piece of yellow in it, makes the contrast even more, i like that.

It's a very graphical picture and I love it. That yellow is too good to be true and contrasts well with the rusty brown of the tram wheels and the gray concrete floor. Very well observed.

Original setting and compo to present one of the old trams in this fine city Kari. Surely not noiseless but very charming part of the cityscape.

Hi Kari,
I also I'm not sure about daily users and residents. But years ago I used these noisy trams quite frequently (by necessity) and I didn't like that noise and I found them rather uncomfortable. Anyway, for sure tourists love them.
The modern trams (on the line by the river, to Belém, e.g.) are very smooth and comfortable, but they aren't so beautiful and are more similar to trams elsewhere.
You got here a nice mix of the under tram and yellow pages add.

F

Hello Kari
the tight cropping, the careful framing allow for a strong graphic composition. I appreciate the contrast between the rough texture of the asphalt and the smooth one of the tram.
Thanks for sharing
