Photographer’s Note

One of the two main streets of Obidos, a small town close to Lisbon. Obidos is a very romantic place. All the houses are white and have some details, usually a broad stripe, in a characteristic color: electric blue, yellow, wine red or dark green. The city is surrounded by a wall and you can get up to walk it. It is a bit difficult if it is windy, because there is no internal wall to prevent you from falling. Nevertheless, it is worth to climb up to get a different view of the town. We went on a tour and barely had about 30 minutes to visit this marvellous place. We also weren't lucky with the weather: it was cloudy and raining almost all the time.

I increased sharpness and contrast, and resized.

The contrast between white and blue is really nice, and this place seems to be very calm and interesting

A nice curve leading the eye deep into the frame, Yvonne, emphasizing the attractive houses on the left side; that small sign on the left is a small distraction, maybe it could have been cropped out... regards, Daniel

That's the trouble when travelling; we have to take the conditions as they are. You were lucky to have the street without people. Yes it's a bit dark but you have composed it well using the narrow street to lead the eye into the frame.

Salut Yvonne, i miss Obidos during my last trip unfortunately...
here there is a nice perspective...but the white of the houses seems a bit gray...
I think it is better to increase the contrast again
anyway...nice image
