Fishing in Madeira Photo

Photographer’s Note

Fishing is a common activity in Madeira. There are even fishing tours for tourists. The shot shows just a couple of fishermen on the coast of Funchal. I liked the backlighting and the sky full of clouds which made the fishermen look small.

Cropped to get rid of some land at the left, slightly sharpened and resized. I also have a shot with a tighter crop. Although you see the fishermen larger, you loose part of the clouded sky (see WS)

Hi Yvonne,

I like cloudy sky and their silhouettes a lot. Reflections by sun lights through clouds are very nice at the left part of your good chosen vertical frame. Wonderful.

Hi Yvomme,
I am back by viewing your fotos. I like your WS image, due to the fact that it has mor colors than the one you posted; I believe that the WS was taken with a tele position. You are right that in your WS immage you loose part of the sky, in the poste image (my opinion) there is to much sky. An ideal solution would be a combination of both images, but due to different sizes it is not possible. I would suggest for the future, for this kind of fotos, that you use a wider lens with a higher resolution and late crop it.
In any case I like both images.
