Volcanic beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

A shot I made from the cais (the dock). I just loved the way these volcanic origin black sands looked with the foam of the waves. I think the guy on the shot is a photographer who also was interested in the same subject.

I used the full 12X optical zoom. I increased sharpness and contrast, cropped out a couple on the upper left corner and resized.

The waves have good geometry, as in most cases I think zoom lenses need more contrast and darkening. Hey, I will be in Madeira 12-15 February.

Hi Yvonne... quite attractive greyish tones and nice diagonal lines in particular and pretty pattern... the guy well included, for scale, but I can also conceive this shot without him... well done, Daniel

Yvonne - well balanced composition with the beach and the sea rolling in. The inclusion of the figure which is well placed add to the overall layout.
