Photographer’s Note

Back to my Obidos series, today a photo from one of those magical looking houses so typical from that town. The tiny look, the low roof that can almost be accessed without the need of a stair and always that magical feeling we experiment while strolling thru those empty streets away from the confusion of the main street, a true return to the past.

Hi Paulo!
Strong postprocessing but I like the effect.I like the blue of the bycicle and the stripe at the house and the repetition in the sky.Great contrast and the Zic-Zac of the wall in the left background is a nice detail.

lovely atmosphere in this shot. The high contrast cloudy sky recalls the colors of the old house.
The modern mountain bike seems a bit out of theme, but its colour is the right one.

i thought blue and white looks terrific only in greece... i guess i was wrong... this is just very attractive paulo... every single detail works really well... and the sky is the best part i think... a real good job mate, congrats...

Óbidos tem outro encanto na hora do disparo fotográfico.

This is a nice photo of the colorful house and sky. The colors are a little over saturated but still give a nice effect. The lighting is nice with good detail and depth.

uniqueness of this place is really exceptional, i do love obidos all the way, its narrow and somehow always sunny streets and charming corners...no other village in portugal influanced me so much as this one...

Hi Mister Mendonca, hhmmmmm a pure delight, this is so good once again, so blue, so saturated, so micro contrasted, huge PP work for a brilliant composition, This typicall little house with the bike is for sure the must of it.

Wow, isto está carregado de contrastes, Paulo. Se calhar até está um pouco exagerado, mas a verdade é que eu gosto assim. Isto sou eu a mudar com o TE... ;-) Parece uma pintura. Castiço e cheio de pormenores deliciosos, numa composição simples e muito eficaz. Dá para perceber que era um local alto. Adoro o pormenor da muralha lá atrás e da bicla e aquelas chaminés enormes atraiem-me sempre muito. Granda céu que contribui em muito para o sucesso desta imagem que é tão rica que nem sinto a falta de pessoas :)

Hello Paulo,

Another excellent shot! I really like the dramtic sky and the contrast with the clouds against the patches of blue sky. The bike adds interest and a story - If anyone really knows Obidos will realize that you cannot drive a car to this house. The only way to get directly to the house is by either walking or riding a bike.

I took a photo a few days ago of the same house with the bike being in a slightly differnt position. But mine was taken with an overcast sky....

Excelente foto Paulo. Gost do cabo-de-guerra feito entre o azul forte do céu e o azul forte da fachada da casa e bicilceta, eles dão equibrio a foto e ótimo contraste com os tons de cinza.

otra de tus espléndidas fotos de estas casas de color blanco y azul, con muchos detalles para mirar, y con un cielo con nubes maravilloso.
Su perfecta iluminación y sus bellos colores hacen que la imagen tenga el aspecto de una pintura, muy atractiva a la vista.

What a shot and composition!Indeed it is a beautiful small "corner" itself but with these fantastic colours and light became a great image.All works so well with sky adding so much and giving a dreamy mood to this neighbourhood!

Paulo, this shot is equally as dramatic, I love that you can get this difinition using techniques rather than having to combine images. I also think it a hoot that this picture is almost the same shot as another on TE, the other of course is flat. Great job as usual.
