Hi dear TE friends

Place : Sortelha, it is a Historical Village of Portugal
With a total area of 43,27 km² and a total population of 579 inhabitants.
Region: Municipality-Sabugal / Parish-Sortelha (zone center of Portugal)
to see: map view

Theme:Sortelha, historical village (1210 DC)

In Sortelha village -“raina region”-, we can see an immaculated mediaeval architecture. Protected by the Castle and the great walls, since XIII century. This place provides an amazing view above Malcata and Serra Mountains.
Definitively, this is one of the most typical and beautiful village in Portugal. This historic village hasn't got signs of modern life, time didn't pass here. Most of houses were build all leaned one in another and this one. In the picture, represents with it’s strength, the granite rock power. Since middle age or even before, all the houses in the place used to be made with this kind of rock.
I hope you guys like it.

*If your target is not our extraordinary beaches, you must visit our Historic Villages, for sure, you’ll not loose your precious time. There, you’ll find a sort of beauty natural stuff. All in all impossible to see in any other place in the world.

The thumbnail does not do this shot justice Filipe. What an amazing place! You had a great POV, it is lovely the way that these houses have been built amongst the rocks. There is so much detail to take in.
You had a good light,it shows the village with the lovely colours and textures.
TFS, regards Jean.

Hello Filipe,

Nice view of the village from this angle with good detail, color & depth. I like the old & new red roofs & the shape of those houses all contained & protected by the rocks & ancient wall. Regards. Latiff.

Bonjour Filipe,

Hi Filipe,
Must have been hard work constructing these houses ... imagine they have to dig into those rocks. On the other hand, they would have very good foundation. Well captured scene. I like the uniformity of the roofs. Well done ... tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Hi Filipe,
What a fabled atmosphere. This is a fascinating and very spectacular place. Excellent composition and cosy details. Picturesque and peaceful mood, indeed. Have a nice weekend, thank you

Hola Filipe,

Hello Filipe,
What an interesting place, wow! We don't have such architecture here and this wall is amazing, so much history inside :) This is a very nice scenery with good exposure, colors, DOF and composition. I have learned new things today :) Thanks,
Claudine

Hi, Filipe. This looks like a splendid village with a remarkable architectural unity. You have chosen a good point of view to show us all the roofs and also the granite that was used to build the houses and the ramparts. the light and the contrasts are very good.

Hi Filipe,

This is a well composed picture of a very interesting village. You have taken the shot from a good position and I like the remains of the wall in the background.

Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Filipe

daniel

Ciao Filipe! what an interesting place you show us!! Thank you!!
Your picture is lovely, well composed and well done. I feel a weight of the granite rock over this village!
I should go to visit Portugal. It should be one of my next trips: it must be very very interesting.

Excelente a nota explicativa. Parabéns.
Un abraço,
Isabel

Filipe,

You have some beautiful scenery captured in your gallery and this is just goergous. I love the feelings that your photos impart, solidarity and stability among others, this is obviously an old but well kept place and it is more than interesting. Nice color and detail of course but the composition is grand.

Greg

Very nice view taken above these different roofs. The great wall mentionned in your note is easy to find and make a very special background, cutting the view in the background. Excellent sharpness.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Ola Filipe,
Nice village view under these slightly dramatic light conditions, all the red roofs are nice because they produce plenty of color contrast against green and grey tones.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves
