Castelo Rodrigo was connected with the Turdulos People, 500 BC. It was a necessary path to the pilgrims in their way to Santiago de Compostela, in the Beira Baixa area. In 1297 all the Riba-Coa territory was given to the Portuguese Crown. 6Km NE it is placed an important example of the Cister Architecture: Convento de Sta. Maria de Aguiar (XII Century). From the 18th century, Castelo Rodrigo was largely abandoned in favour of less isolated Figueira, now a flourishing little town known for its almond blossom. Just to the south , topped by a huge stone Christ the King, is the highest point of the Serra da Marofa (977m). There is a wonderful Moslem Reservoir with a horseshoe arch door, located in the Cadeia street, which crosses throughout the village. Besides the Matriz Church, a beautiful pillory can be seen. The church of Nsa. Sra. Do Rocamador, rebuilt in the XVII century, is based on a romanic church built in the XII century, being included in the itinerary of the pilgrimage to Santiago.

Olá Ana,

Stunning façade is from old house that smell real life with its alloy. I like wonderful textures on its façade. You used lights very well because the textures are very clean, visible and sharp. Continuing old textures at surrounds and your very informative note adds great value. Congratulations.

Best Regards,

Parbo

Hi Ana,
A strong, high impact shot of this ancient stone structure. I like the careful and tasteful framing and cropping you employed here, with great clarity of detail. You did well to control the rather strong, almost harsh light, allowing one to fully appreciate the facade features. Well captured.

Merhaba Ana, my friend...
It's a beautiful point of view and perspective... The texture of the old houses's wall, the cream tones, the natutal light and the clarity are perfect... Also perfect contrast between the sky's blue and houses's cream tones...
Thank you for your detailed note too...
TFS...
Stay well..
Salim.

Fica bem,
Ricardo
