Photographer’s Note

One of the probably most picturesque places in Lisbon - the ruins of Convento do Carmo in Bairro Alto.

Here is my view of it - captured with the wide angle lens with a fine weather outside. Careful setting of the polarizing filter (halfway between min and max) makes the color of the sky really blue.

Nice angle. I think it would be an incredibly imposing building and slightly sinister without the beautiful blue sky coming through.

Bardzo ladnie zlapales tu perspektywe. Lubie to miejsce, zagladalem tam kilkakrotnie podczas pobytu w Lizbonie. To ciekawe, ze to dzieki trzesieniu ziemi ten kosciol stal sie tak popularny. Filterek sie przydal jak widze. Poza tym doskonale oddales wysokosc tych lukow wspartych na filarach,

I've seen a few shots of this in the past - but it never ceases to amaze me.
To see this architecture minus its roof, to me, creates an impression of how it must have been during the building stage: amazing. People would have gathered just to watch the construction of such a marvel.

This is a superb picture of a beautiful place/monument. The POV and perspective is really excellent and the arches pointing to the sky gives a feeling of the human kind being just a small part of the universe. Very well done.

Znalazlem to zdjecie, poniewaz porownuje zdjecia z tokiny 12-24 i sigmy 10-20, chce zdecydowac sie na ktorys z tych dwoch szerokich katow... a jakie jest Twoje zdanie na ten temat ???
