Photographer’s Note
Here is another shot from Ursa beach. This shot was taken shortly after the sunset. You can see from my previous shot how colors can change dramaticaly. What I like about his shot is how colors have changed into much softer tone with some dreamy touch to it. I've taken many photos on this beach, however what I like about this one is the line created by background and the foreground rock that gives greater depth to this photo.
Previous photo from same beach
Location: Praia da Ursa (Ursa Beach)
Getting There: By public transport. From Lisbon Rossio station take the train to Sintra (about 45 minutes). Then take the bus to Cabo da Roca, the western most point of continental Europe (another 45 minutes and quite a ride through tiny alleys. It is of course much easier to get there by car…
Comments: There are two paths leading down to the beach. One is steep and difficult, the other less so, but longer and the smaller loose stones instead of the bigger rocks make for a different challenge. You should definitely not be afraid of heights :)

Hi Lucie
oh wow, not only the rocks attracted my attention, but more the fog shining waves throuth the 8 secs in the flat layer.
Excellent how you realised this photo,
the pov is fine, the chosen format either, just a perfect photo.

Lucie,
The way you use natural features to create graphic elements in this image (most of your images, I should say) is quite impressive, creating strong visual impact. Here, for example, the line created by the alignment of the pinnacle in the background and the foreground rock gives great depth to the image. This is compounded by the converging lines of the strata. I also like the fact that the image conveys a sense of tranquility despite the fact that the main subject consists of sharp, hard rock. Finally, on the more technical side, I think the exposure was bang on: detail has been preserved in both the dark and bright rock. Good stuff ! Richard

Hi Lucie!
Very nice composition of this wonderful beach (I know it thanks to Luis Alfonso shots...and thanks to you now!)The long time exposure gives this place a mysterious atmosphere. This blue is really superb! But I would prefer swim "in your previous photo"...the warmer ligh is a better invitation to have sea bath...Two fabulous photos, thanks!!

Fantastic - colours, sharpness, composition and the dreaminess of the sea - it looks very other world like. You really do have some incredible photos.
I notice a wee smudge in the sky on the right a quarter of the way down - just to let you know.

For someone who comes across this place for the first time, it looks like rocks above a very misty ground and not the sea at all. You did manage the light very well and the end result is magnificent and with great contrast with all the other photos we have seen in recent days on TE. Congratulations.

Lucie I must say what a wonderful time exposure here. The 8 seconds seems to have leveled out the water and yet is does look like see through mist too. Excellent composition againest these rocks. A fine addition to your gallery. Thanks for posting. I just finished critiquing a photo by Ricardo who was at the same beach. Seems like a popular place. Thanks for sharing!

It's amazing to think that this is only a few minutes later, because the colours have changed so dramatically. The blurred ocean waves are wonderful, giving this a ghostly appearance. Well done!

Hi Lucie,
This is a dream shot. Donot know from where and how I drifted into your galery, but now I just love to say that your shots are extremely beautiful, colourful, meaniningful. Canon EOS350D might be used by a number of photographers but from where the skilled hands of yours and great eye of yours others will have.

Hi Lucie - a superb image, the composition is great, it really shows off this unusual & beautiful place in a good way. Using the long exposure creates a wonderful, misty, dreamy effect on the water in the bottom part of the frame. Great work!

Pretty amazing shot Lucie,
I never get tired of seeing time elapses of the ocean...they're always so amazing. I love the contast between the two different shades of rock. I'm assuming that's one of the reasons this shot appealed to you.
Thanks for your critiques - I enjoy hearing from you.
I look forward to seeing more from you soon,

That's a tight framing you got there. It's easy to be mesmerized by that fantastic landscape and try to get everything in the frame...I know, I've been there.
You're right, this place has an unique light, changing quickly in the end of the day. I like the water effect made by the long exposure.
Funny we almost met there, I was at Ursa the next day, Sunday. On Sunday there were some clouds in the sky that gave a bit more interest to the sky (I've posted one shot of that day).
Don't take me bad, but you left two dust spots on the right side of the sky, between he rocks.
PS: Great gallery you have here...brilliant.

Comparing the two posted Ursa beach is comparing two complete different worlds, although it is the same place with slight different framing. The light makes part of the difference but then the interesting aspect is the long exposure in this particular picture. The fuzzy water justifies very well your land of dreams.
It will enter my favorite file.

An interesting combination of different shapes and textures, Lucie. It's almost like every rock formation is from a different geological age. The long exposure on the water creates a dreamy feel that makes this quite a surreal composition. Cheers . . . David

Hello Lucie,
I can only join the chorus of admirers of this shot, and your gallery in general. What an astonishingly surrealistic vision you've created of this beach in Portugal! The color, composition, exposure are all first rate. The "sfumatto" effect in the distant rocks is something Leonardo would have prized (perhaps you know the painting 'Virgin of the Rocks'). Regards from Virginia,
Bulent

Amazing shot, another!
The depth and incredible textures.
The longer exposure has made for a very mystical shot.
The different rock formations are also very interesting, especially the main spire which is amazingly sharp and twisted.

Lucie,
Hmm, this one is cool too but I can't decide which I like better. The water on this one certainly gives it an entirely etheral feeling but I also love the one with the sky reflecting off the sand. Hey, maybe you can print them and frame them as a dual set. Beautiful work. I hope you find some inspiration in Kuwait because it is clear you miss being out snapping shots.

Hmm, I actually prefer this one over the one you've posted today. The shadows on that grey rock are much better (more open) and the long exposure adds some magic.
