Cabo da Roca (Cape Roca) is a cape that forms the westernmost point of mainland Portugal, and hence the westernmost point of the continental Europe.

It is located in Lisbon district, 40 kilometers west of Lisbon and 18 kilometers west of Sintra in the Serra de Sintra nature park. The cliff rises out of the Atlantic Ocean to approximately 140 meters above sea level. On top of it located a lighthouse and a tourist office. The cape is a very popular tourist attraction.

The Portugal’s greatest poet Luis Vaz de Camões defined Cabo da Roca as the place "where the land ends and the sea begins".

Hi Alana, great POV and judicious use of ND filters to take out the sky.
Europe starts in a wild, wild way here...
Thank you also for the interesting note,
bye
Stefano

hi alana,
very nice shot indeed.warm colours!!!

Hi Alana
I like the way you framed the clift including the red light house. I like the contrast between the cliff and the unsaturated gray sky. Good job
Cheers
JP

Hello Alana,
A nice composition, strong diagonal leading the view to the building.

Didier

Hi Alana,

a perfect shot....

take care, Ivana

powerful. breathtaking. compelling.

the capture is extremely excellent with the lighthouse
proving to be a signature to the whole scene.

thank you alana.

Hi Alana
Excellent shot here with very good composition. The foreground flowers add good interest leading onto the large, rock outcrop. I also like the building/lighthouse in the upper right of the frame which balances the composition nicely. Good technical details and nice framing.
Cheers
Aubrey

Hi Alana,
A great shot with this DOF. Especially these very sharped cliffs and lighthouse, contrasting with the dark sea and this heavy sky. Two worlds in opposition : the known and the unknown...

I have a shot with exactly the same composition, but mine looks like crap (bad lighting and colors). Yours is great. I love the depth of field. Everything is wonderfully sharp, from the rocky shoreline, to the nice yellow flowers in the corner. I'm jealous!

Ryan

Hi Alana
Very nice processing. I'd call it : Where Europe ends :-) just a matter of point of view. Greetings to Canada

Hi Alana,
Very nice shot ... and to be honest, I'm a bit jalous too, because I took a picture from nearly exactely the same POV, with less spectacular result though! It would be nice to know a bit more about the secrets of your post processing ! Best regards and TFS, Mike
