View of Nazare's beachfront from the cliffs above the town. An alternate view will be added to workshop. I don't like this photo much, but I'm posting to honour the efforts of the portuguese team who lost today, I was able to watch the first half which was televised (in spanish) at the restaurant where I ate lunch.

Beautiful dark red roofs.
Looks like a satalite shot.
Very well done.

I look at the workshop picture and I like this one better. You have my condolances on Portugals loss. They lasted a longer than the United States.

the red roof and the blue sea contrast sharply, nice shot.
thanks for share.

Tan the shadow lines along the shoreline wave makes this photo look almost 3D! The white water twirles itself nicely in the distance. A very well thought out photo Tan....thanks for sharing!

Beautiful shot of a marvelous Portuguese beach. I really like the saturated colors and the sharpness of your photo. The pic on WS is also very good but I prefer the POV of this one.

Deepforest (9260) 2006-07-06 2:56
Wonderful view of the beach. The first I had supposed, that it had been done from a aeropalne. Then I read your note. The cliff must be very elevated... Fantastic contrast of colours. Perfect sharpness with all details. I like this picture very much. The alternate picture is interesting too.
carper (96) 2006-07-06 3:15
you did not like it so much, but I must say it's a very nice image and it is an homage an Portugal, the beauty of the beach the well taken composition and all that details, very good job.
Angshu (55892) 2006-07-06 3:36
Superb colours Tan & a great "Tan-esque" POV...the contrasts with the deep blue sea with the yellow sand is great..I love the curve of the sea & the lovely red roofs...great composition!

good vieuw on the structure and texture of the beach.
Fine crop and perspective with only beach and water below

Hi Tan. You must spend your whole life climbing up hills. The wonderful, colourful, vista’s you capture make it well worth while for us spectators though. Thanks for sharing.
gilou530 (34) 2006-07-06 7:35
tcht (7565) 2006-07-06 9:49
That PoV from the cliff is excellent. And I think the division of frame is very well managed, not too much sea and not too much town. Good overall balance. Perfect depth to me. Maybe the colours n brightness could be improved but otherwise I don't see anything not good.
rhizomes (15343) 2006-07-06 11:14
Very nice point of view ! Colors are impressive with the see, the sans and the red roofs on the city...
kevinos (7397) 2006-07-06 11:59
This one has a very strong composition, Tan, The powerful curls of the sea, the beech and the town echoing and reinforcing eachother.
Paolo (41222) 2006-07-06 12:23
Sometimes i think that you have 2 big wings....
your POV as so unusual, wonderful, perfect, the ones...and everytime!
so, Tan with Wings...another great shot!
a fantastic "aerial view". colorful , with a long view over the colorful village and the beautiful empty beach.
Budapestman (82620) 2006-07-06 12:51
Beautiful photo again! Sharpen is perfect, like as I see warm trails in the sand! Wow, very good photo, fantastic POV! Thank you, nice days,
Tue (27696) 2006-07-06 14:02
I love the three parts of this photo: the blue sea, the yellow beach and the red/white buildings of the city. The buildings create a wonderful repetition effect too. Very well composed too, good work!
alvaraalto (6177) 2006-07-06 17:23
Beautiful pictures of these remarkable sand-patterns. Probably the result of the tide and the wind and not of the training of the Portuguese football-team.
Xalkida (11744) 2006-07-06 18:04
Very very impressive shot! Great vivid colors, excellent lighting, very fine depth. Amazing. A diamond!
coco (30439) 2006-07-07 1:23
Good POV and very nice colours in this photo. Really looks a nice place.
markstaples (15670) 2006-07-07 6:34
I prefer this photo Tan to your workshop view since this has superb impact thanks to the mass expanse of beach which the eye can follow through. Great perspective and depth, superb POV and as always, impeccable quality.
rahul__rahul__ (2250) 2006-07-07 10:20
great picture, I like the POV in this a lot. It really makes the picture very special, and the contrast of the red roofs, brown sand and dark water is nice. I like the detail of the line of waves captured and the texture of the sand has been captured nicely with the darker and lighter shades.
ChrisJ (99140) 2006-07-07 11:50
Wonderful layering & sharpness, with a superb high pov. Color is also excellent. Tfs!
Stepan (27210) 2006-07-07 14:59
Excellent aerila pov again to appreciate the difference between the natural beautiful space and the density from city. Beautiful perspective too.
Cormac (26563) 2006-07-07 19:01
I don't know whay you don't like this shot, it's got a very nice balance between those 4 segments, which is unsual in a landscape (more normal for a close-up. I like the repeated curve too, which gives the shot an interesting look. Great work!
elmec (12210) 2006-07-08 2:43
Such a perfect shot!
I like the vawing lines running across the photo!
Perfect composition, colours and light!

Bu sitede böyle güzel panaromik çekimleri yapabilecek bir kişi daha olduğunu sanmıyorum.
john_c (24662) 2006-07-08 12:17
The hues and tones are such that it reminds me of sitting down to a gigantic feast - where to begin? The three distinct layers of colour and texture radiate outward, with the foaming waves providing dynamism. The red roofed buildings are like from some storybook tale - so clean and miniaturized from this perspective. Superb work, Tan. A delight to the eye.
cherryripe (21033) 2006-07-08 12:22
You may not like this but I do. Such an unusual areal shot and the line between the sea and the sand is beautifully weird. The saturation is excellent
tonyking (1612) 2006-07-10 7:01
For a pic you don't like so much, I actually feel it's pretty good! I like the composition but it's the colours that appeal to me most. The rich, golden sand and the deep blue ocean separated by the white surf create a nice contrast on their own. This is enhanced further by the uniformity of colour in the buildings. It's great work with the polariser, which is something I'm glad I now own as well. As usual, image quality, detail, and sharpness are first class. This is impressive work. I only wish I was as good!
banyanman (7789) 2006-07-10 8:32
Great saturation and contrast, Tan (as usual). I can't work out why you don't like this. I do like the way in which you have composed this with the top of the beach curving from just within the bottom left hand corner to the top right. Most people would probably have given the land area more 'headroom' but this framing works really well. Cheers . . . David
donluicu (24724) 2006-07-11 4:56
this is an amzing view..
the work of compo is very interesting, and this succession of colors too, from blue to white to orange..
i like it
sarju (5324) 2006-07-16 21:21
I will start with this photo as I had seen it before and admired it tremendously.
I love your tight cropping of the photo on top ... excellent ... and besides that it is ofcourse the beautiful colours of the beacn and water and the houses.
love this place .... tfs ... cheers ... sarju

Hi Captain POV, what an amazing picture Tan !!
You are still the defending champ' of POV, heavyweight champion ;) This picture is really brilliant, i discover it just today and what a pleasure.
contrats are perfect, light and colors marry so well. A great one.
PS : i thought of you last week cause i was in st malo and wasn't able to access your excellent POV from your LP on St malo
goodwill (4224) 2006-07-21 13:38
Good colours and great contrst.
The waters, the white surf, the sands and the red roofs, whar else on earth is needed to have a home near such a place?
Greetings from India,
sabyasachi1212 (19773) 2006-07-26 15:15
This is one amazing picture. Great colours and the sense of proportions is just perfect. I don't know why you disliked it, I can't find any fault with this.
With Greetings from India

Şahane bir manzara daha... Deniz, kum, dalgalar ve köpükler fotoğrafa tat veriyor. Ayrıca şu görünen kumsalda çöp olmamasını yadırgadım:)... Ellerine sağlık, selamlar.

Wohhh Nazare without people, incredible moment :)
Tezic (17867) 2006-10-05 10:46
harika bir POV... denizle kumsalın birleştiği bölümler enfes.... tebrikler..

Nice view spot of my homeland.
thank you Tan
pvinagre (202) 2007-02-23 14:12
Just to say that the view from Nazare is always impressive. And also that the roof tiles are too redish - you should try to put them a bit more on the orange side( ok it might loose a bit of appeal -but it's also closer to reality)
zumoduvas (2069) 2007-04-09 7:32
Excellent picture, nice composition and colors.
