[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
All rainbows are circular. How much of the circle you see depends on the amount of disruption the land and other objects shadow or interfere with the viewing of both a refraction and a reflection of the sun coming from a 40-42° angle from the antisolar center of a moisture particle or rain drop acting as an optical lens separating white light into the various waves lengths we see as different colors. In this shot my body is seen silhouetted below the antisolar point from the top of Pico de Barossa, the mountain peak near Lagoa do Fogo. I have a Google Earth Placemark for this location if I could just add it here, I would. -PhotoLogic.

The governmental authorities do not allow any modern construction around Lagoa do Fogo. This lagoon is the highest in sea level on the island of Sao Miguel, Açores. -Wikipedia.

This is a crater of an extinct volcano. An enormous lake with transparent waters; a peninsula with a beach. Atmosphere of great calm and beauty. Splendid vistas of the sea and mountains. Nearby lies Lakes Congro and Nenúfares, of small size but great beauty. You can go down to the beach. It takes ½ hour to join the water and 1 hour to go up. Be careful, stay on the road otherwise you will have to fight fierce brambles and vegetation. From the top you could see the ocean from opposite directions. Clouds could arrive at anytime, so take a picture as soon weather permitted. - allain / iExplore.com

Awesome brocken spectre! I love these, and this is a very colorful one with great band definition.
