[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Portuguese coast is very inspiring because, despite the large number of tourists, it still has plenty of astonishing secret spots, although most of them are fairly inaccessible.

Here the magic was not only the light, but shapes that nature presented me. A rock that reflected becomes a heart and that is also inside a heart shaped sand spot. The rock in the far background must be the "distant lover"... far, but still together. Nature's poetry!

I hope you enjoy!

PS: I appologise for the 500px larger side and watermark in the frame, but some unauthorized use has happened before in other websites (including mine)

******************************************
It's with a truly immense honour that I received the 1st place award in Nature Category at the 6th PhotoJournalism Award 2005 VISAO/BES, the Portuguese version of World Press Photo. This was the awarded photo.
The jury was composed by the renowned James Nachtwey (Time Magazine photographer, VII agency), Maryanne Golon (Time Magazine photographic editor), Alain Mingam (journalist/photographer, Reporters Without Frontiers), Christopher Morris (photographer, VII agency). 204 photographers submitted 5815 photographs in all categories.
Dedicated to all of those that have supported me to go further with my passion. As James Nachtwey said during the awards ceremony, photographers should "never give up". I'm speechless. Thanks!

Nice picture!. The B&W is ok but it makes that the rock looks more black than it is!. I cannot see any details on it. May be you could try with some PP.

I wish the photo it self would be bigger although I like it - looks so pure and sharp
