Photographer’s Note

Following my travelogue, this is one of the many abandoned stations in Douro river region, that i have told you in my 2 previous fotos...each one with their own history to tell, and particular details.

I was told that there are a few abandoned stations that is worth to visit cause of its beauty...next visit to the region i will try to bring some :)

Meanwhile this particular one is from Carviçais (as you can see in the identification on the house), a litlle village in this region, still a few km from Douro river! As you can see it even has no rails anymore...in its place is a green field of grass!
On 1st plan you can see the building where in the past you could take your ticket and where traffic was controled in this stop. After the station you can still see the old reservoir from the Steam trains ages!
