Photographer’s Note
Praça do Comercio is probably the most monumental and majestic square of the whole city.
The square is centred by an an impressive XIX century triumphal arch decorated with enormous statues of historical personalities like the Marquês do Pombal and Vasco da Gama.
At the centre of the square there is the equestrian statue of king Josè I°.
Yellow and red trams run in the square.
The square is in the Baixa neighborhood, rebuilt after the 1775 earthquake by the Marquês do Pombal, in front of the large river Tagus.

Hi Paolo.
I love everything that comes from Lisabon.
I like the composition of the bus with the yellow house in the back. Contrast with sky is beautiful.
I wish you could repost this with a better scanned image.

Ciao Paolo,
I like here the match of the yellow of the tram and building.
Praço do Comércio is still popularly called Terreiro do Paço (Square of the Palace), from the time when the royal palace was here, before the earthquake of 1755 (not 1775).
This arch is called Arco da Rua Augusta, because the Augusta street begins here.
