The stairs are going from Alfama to Baixa Pombalina, the lower district of Lisbon. Same lazy atmosphere.

I can see you are familiar with the challenge of showing great depth in a photographic image -- and you have solved that challenge here! I will study this foto for its lessons -- perhaps it is the way the stones in the walkway demonstrate the increasing distance from the camera as they descend the hill; perhaps it is the compounding of floors in the buildings, with only two visible in the partial structure at far left, then three in the middle structure, then four in the red. Whatever it is (and yes, I will continue to study this!), it is a masterful lesson in showing three dimensions in this two-dimensional medium.
Well done, sir!

Hello Daniel ,
The plunging view to this downing street combinated with the tall format , provide an excellent result . The presence of the woman is a good bonus .

Having a look at your gallery I found quite original ways of capture and frames
This is not an exception, taken from the high going down along with the woman

Ciao dear Daniel
You chose the tight frame well here, emphasising the narrow streets and steep stairs. The solitary person adds an essential element of interest and I like the graphism of the house line.
Excellent work, thanks for sharing

like the originality of this POV, it works perfectly. It captures the character and steepness of some of the Lisbon streets. Love the detailing and the mix of textures is captivating. Well observed and executed.

Magnificent view of the facades and the street, from a high point, which gives an original POV, the facades of the two houses so different between them harmonize in their range of colors, the lady down the stairs gives a nice complement.
Very good management of brightness and optimum sharpness.
Enjoy a happy weekend.

Tout bon le POV plongeant, les couleurs et détails des façades, la présence de la dame sur ce chemin pavés qui semble long et d'une descende assez importante

this is a wonderful picture with great arcitectural interest and very intriguing atmosphere. It's also a fascinating study of the use of depth, space and perspective. The stairs, the walls, the balconies, the open windows introducing another perspective and dimension, have been combined masterfully in a narrow vertical frame. The people are surely enjoying this superb picturesque environment, they would be fascinated by your point of view and composition. Your lighting and colour management have dealt aptly with the particular demands raised by scenery and time of capture. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,

Hi Daniel. You've preferred the upright format presented on this site. In addition, to say that the compositions are consistently excellent. Therefore, your photos deserve a special rank on TE.

beautiful architecture, lovely and unique mood, but above all fantastic presentation of the scene.Tight, vertical frame and so wide-angled perspective works really well here. These steep and narrow alleys of Lisbon are so atmospheric. There is always new to be discovered.
PS.can you tell what kind of lens did you use here?
Wish You a nice weekend

Is this the Escadinhas de São Cristóvão, where there is a big painting on the opposite side? I'm noticing the leg with the flowers on the wall:)!
Good pov to show this old corner of Lisbon! I like the details of the houses, pavement and the woman passing. Seems they were still keeping the decorations of the popular feasts
