Porto de Mos, a photo from Algarve, South

Photographer's Note

Porto de Mos est un ancien hâvre de pêcheurs , aujourd'hui une plage assez tranquille , située au sud-ouest de Lagos . On peut voir au second plan les falaises blanches et la Ponta das Ferrarias , derrière laquelle se cache la belle Praia de Luz .
En partant de Poto de Mos , on peut effectuer une magnifique et courte ballade côtière , qui vous donnera une idée des merveilles que peut offrir le littoral de l'Algarve . Une fois garé sur le parking , il faut descendre sur la plage , et emprunter un escalier qui débute sur la terrasse du bar-restaurant . On se retrouve rapidement sur le sentier bordé d'agaves (c'est ce qui est représenté sur le cliché) . Ici , les résidences touristiques continuent à pousser , mais elles sont cependant suffisamment en retrait pour qu'on les oublie . Malheureusement , une clôture disgrâcieuse et inutile est installée le long du chemin , et elle se retrouve très vite au bord de la falaise tant l'érosion y est intense . On arrive en une demi-heure la célèbre Ponta da Piedade , mais avant , on peut s'arrêter dans une des criques isolées que je vous ai presentées précédemment . De Ponta de Piedade , à peine une heure de marche suffit pour rejoindre Lagos en surplombant deux autres superbes plages : Praia do Camilo , et Praia de Dona Ana . De Lagos , un bus permet de rejoindre le point de départ . C'est en faisant la ballade dans ce sens que l'on bénéficie des meilleurs éclairages . Et les sujets de photo ne manquent pas !

The clouds look tropical like here and the composition is great!

Hi, Denis,
Excellent colourful picture of the strong Atlantic coast. This low sky and rocky banks look not so hospitable as a Spanish costa del Maresme, for example. Perfect sharpness, good saturation. TFS!

Bonjour Denis,

I am so surprised that you haven't had more attention for this beautiful shot! It is difficult to know what people want!
I love the way that you have used the flowering cactus to anchor the f/g in a strong compositional position. You have a natural, gentle lead, from the curve of the clifftop, round to an equally strong disappearing point, in the distance. The photograph is sharply exposed with lovely colour saturation and the rules of thirds composition are obvious. A lovely shot.

Cette belle végétation à l'avant plan donne une grande profondeur à l'image qui est d'une grande netteté et qui jouit d'une luminosité impeccable.Un très bel endroit.

sur la photo, la clôture se remarque à peine, mais c'est vrai que ça doit gâcher un peu la beauté du site.La ballade doit quand même être formidable, si j'en crois ce que je vois sur la photo, et elle a dû être encore plus belle pour toi qui l'a faite sous une splendide lumière et sous un magnifique ciel.

I take it that the fence that blocks access to the cliffs and ocean is to bring back the natural plants and to restore the area to its natural state.

Encore une jolie photo bénéficiant de cette lumière et de ces couleurs caractéristiques de tes images de ce coin du Portugal !
En ce qui concerne la composition, je suis à moitié convaincu car je trouve que la plante est trop centrée et attire donc trop le regard.

You're capturing well this coastline by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see clean/calm sea with color layer and the peninsula with flat ground and rich green plants. And, the clouds floating to the sky draw out an additional good atmosphere.

Hi Denis!

Well composed using the rule of thirds with the sky nicely positioned on the 1/3 horizontal axis. Good colour, saturation & high pov in this superb seascape. The flowering Agave spikes add depth & graphism. A wonderful warm cold colour contrast, between the red soil & blue sky. Amicalement!

comme d'habitude, la grande qualité de l'image et la netteté de ta photo nous permet d'apprécier avec tous les détails la beauté sereine de ce paysage magnifique côtier.
La lumière et les couleurs sont au niveau maximal de qualité, le cadrage est très élégant, et la composition est parfaitement structurée.
J'aime la beauté des nuages sur ce ciel un peu dramatique.
C'est un travail superbe.

A very fine composition indeed with the lovely curve of the seafront leading us onward toward the horizon. The large fleshy plant and the tall stems make an excellent foreground too.

Fabulous vibrant colours, a glorious sky and sea and stunning details and sharpness.
