Photographer's Note
This one is another sight caught from the Miradouro das Portas do Sol, in Lisbon, where it is possible to estimate the beauty of the Neighborhood of Alfama and of the red roofs of its houses, between which is outlined the magnificent white architecture of the Igreja de São Vicente da Fora.
I hope you like.
Information of http://www.conocelisboa.com/iglesia-san-vicente-fora-lisboa:
San Vicente de Fora Church raises on a hill to the east of The Alfama and is visible from far off. The origins of this great church date back of the year 1147 when the first king of Portugal Alfonso Enríques ordered to construct it to shelter Saint Vincent body, who died in a battle against the Muslims and which later was nominated Patron Saint of the city.
In 1582 during the reign of Philip II there began the project of reconstruction, which gave place to the church that today we can see and that it would not conclude and inaugurate until the year 1629. As the majority of the buildings, this one also was damaged by the earthquake of 1755, concretely the principal dome and the ceiling.
Then it was restored and the former monastic refectory turned into the pantheon of the dynasty Bragança.
This precious Renaissance temple designed by the architect Filippo Terzi has a shaded and symmetrical front to the purest Italian style, flanked by two towers. In the entry on the portico appear the figures of Saint Augustine, Saint Sebastian and Saint Vincent. In its interior emphasizes itself the baroque canopy of work of Machado de Castro, the panels of blue rollers of the cloister with scenes of the conquest of Portugal and the tombs of the Bragança family where they rest the remains of the majority of the members of the last royal family who governed Portugal.

Hi Josep
I remember not too long ago watching a Travel program on TV, and this city was highlighted.
it seems to be that the city is warping around your lens :)
the building seem to be circulating, perhaps moving along with the lay of the landscape.
love that small building in the very bottom centre, that one looks like a keeper! Could you zoom in on that one? :)
funny too, how it appears that the lower the building, the more decay there is, the higher - the more pristine and clean.
nice shot
cheers

Filipe

It still amazed me to see buildings built hundred of years ago still standing and still as beautiful. Good testament to great builders and architects of yore. Nicely captured with excellent lighting and sharp details. Very well done, tfs.

Hola Josep,
A great thing for visitors of Lisbon is that the city has several viewpoints spread over the town. Wonderfully, just as its old trams.
The alternation of red roofs and white facades offer a great sight. Even better with a few churches towering over the houses.
The picture has good clarity even when there's no sun shining.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Josep
The view of the city in the photo here reminds me of a view of Salzburg, Austria. The medieval architecture of the church, though, is in clear contrast to the architecture of the buildings in the front, which only adds to the beauty of the the former structures. The red roofs stand out well.

Hola Josep

Buona serata

Hola Josep,
panoramic the view of this part of the neighbourhood of Alfama, with the Cathedral to dominates the area from the hill.
I like the Clarity as the sharpness of the image with the tile roofs to make the upper view of the houses more effective.Well done my friend.

Bonjour Josep,

Luis.

Hi Josep
A spectacular cityscape with detail throughout for the eye and those high rise churches look very imposing and dominate the skyline. A pleasant shot and the exposure looks good in this almost monochromatic feeling -suits the subject nicely! except for those red roofs, creating great contrast. A beautiful view, like this very much. Brilliant piece of work.
Warm regards

Hello Josep,
Like your earlier picture with the
cruise ship: A picture that has a
lots and lots of details,
but it's a picture that is'nt too
busy. Once again (like all your
pictures) this shows that this
picture has a great composition and
is taken from a great point of view.
The light management is aslo great
it's gentle soft and that fits very
well.....great work.
Friendly regards,
Robert

Hola my friend Josep
The red tiled roofs lead us to the fine architecture in the BG. The blue sky would have made it more attractive, but that's not in your hands. Light also seems to be dull, but you've done well in these conditions. Like the small arrowhead 2 small circles which is painted on the house in bottom right
Best Regards
Angshu

Hola Josep,
The classical view from the known Miradouro, looking at the red roof-tops of Alfama.
The place is overwhelming, just we needed more "sol" when taken this in photo's.
Old building is in a constant restoration by the City, but preserving it's ancient texture.
Good memories, with this pleasent photo.
