Photographer's Note

This is my first upload of Marvão - one of the nicest villages in the Alentejo. Situated at the top of Serra do Sapoio (more than 800 m high), Marvão is a really beautiful and well preserved village and from the walls of its castle the view is completely breathtaking.
This photo has been taken in one of the gardens and what we see in background is the Church of Santa Maria, a 14th century church, later rebuilt, that shelters today the Municipal Museum.

Hello Ana,
nice composition with the stony path leading the eye to the house. Good management of light, which is always difficult with sunshine on white frontages. The dark blue sky is a perfect background.

You have superb bright colours and luminosity here nd good picture resolution.
The big flower pot anchors the shot in the FG, nice straight way up giving depth. And a bautiful church to go in your collection!

1º post, Anabela ?! Eu diria que já terias pelo menos meia dúzia de posts do Marvão. A composição é original e muito bem conseguida. Gosto da perspectiva do caminho a fazer a ligação entre o vaso e a igreja, entre o aqui e o ali, a sensação de profundidade é imediata. Além disso as cores e contrastes estão excelentes numa imagem bem atraente.

Ana,
This is a nicely composed shot of this church and gardens. The path creates a nice diagonal through the shot leading the eye past the church. The flowers in the foreground add depth to the scene. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has great sharpness.

Hi Ana

A truly perfect shot of this lovely church on the hill top. You got very nice contrasts, vibrant color hues and sharpness. In particular the white and blue is fantastic. Well done.

One thing is interesting, you used the CPL and the effect is great. However when I use the CPL with my Olympus E-3 and shot then the same shot with UV there is no difference when I check it on the PC monitor. Previously in analog I shot almost only with CPL, no in digital it is almost only UV ... strange???!!!

qué belleza de foto aquí! Has obtenido una luminosidad impresionante y unos colores naturales muy bien saturados.
Los jardines nos introducen en un mundo verde muy bien cuidado y son la antesala para admirar la bonita arquitectura blanca de la iglesia.

já visitei este lugar umas 3 ou 4 vezes, é sempre um espanto a sua localização. aqui eu aprecio a maneira como vc enquadrou a igreja, tão bonita, e os elementos do jardim. cores, luz e nitidez estão fabulosos. mais uma daquelas fotos com o seu alto perfil de qualidade. parabéns

It's the use of this POV, which makes this special...from the corner of the hedge fence, which leads our eyes right upto the church. Fine contrast between the white church, the polarised blue sky & the green foliage.
