25 de Abril Bridge
Golden Gate's twin sister

Completed in 1966 and originally named after dictator Salazar, this suspension bridge across the Tagus River changed its name after the revolution of April 25, 1974.

It is a spectacular sight from any direction, with an overall length of 2278m (approx. 1.5 miles), and the longest central span in Europe (1013m/3323ft), longer than San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, which it resembles.

Its foundations also hold the world record by going 80m (262ft) below the riverbed to stand on basalt rock

a lovely sunset with the subdued light,and the sun still painting pastoral colors in the clouds, makes this a memorable shot.The existence of the dominative bridge,as the tiny flying bird on the upper right side of the image, make it more attractive.

What a beautiful sunset capture and as a bonus this bridge which is an engineering feat for sure. At the same time it is very important memorial as you wrote of your country to overcome dictatorship. Very vibrant colors and high sharpness, I really like it.

hello Aires,
the simple composition of the silhouette of the bridge against the sky nicely focuses attention on the fiery sunset clouds, I quite like that. I cannot decide if I like the bird in the upper right corner - on the one had, it's a good accent, on the other hand the silhouette is so small that it takes a while to recognize it for what it is. minor point though.

truly a jaw-dropping sunset.
The sky is fantastic with so many clouds in various shapes.
You have smartly used the famous and unique bridge silhouette against the setting sun to enrich the composition. I like also the bird in the upper right corner.
