Another trip in the sunrise to the Belem area in Lisbon

I didn't catch the sun rise but some monuments like this one and the fisherman.

I hope you like it !

Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries) is a monument that celebrates the Portuguese who took part in the Age of Discovery, or the Age of Exploration, of the 15th and 16th centuries. It is located on the estuary of the Tagus river in the Belém parish of Lisbon, Portugal, where ships departed to their often unknown destinations.

The monument consists of a 52 metre-high slab of concrete, carved into the shape of the prow of a ship. The side that faces away from the river features a carved sword stretching the full height of the monument. It was conceived by Portuguese artists, architect Cottinelli Telmo and sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida as a temporary beacon of the Portuguese World Fair in 1940. The Monument to the Discoveries represents a romantic idealisation of the Portuguese past that was typical during the regime of dictator Salazar

bellissimo il POV che hai scelto per catturare quest'immagine, la strada che in prospettiva conduce lo sguardo verso il monumento, con i puntoni bianchi, è graficamente molto attraente. Bella l'atmosfera nebbiosa ed il pescatore sulla destra.

A very original and very creativ shot of this famous edifice. The good use of fog give a very astonihing atmopsher to the view. Great prospect effect too with the FG well selecetd. This Fg give too rythm, dynamism to the image.

Bom dia Aires, mist always fascinates me, as I always wonder what it is covering. And here it covers an amazing and old monument. Very mysterious. I like the vertical format which accentuates the height of the towed and the symmetrical markings on the road. The depth - as always - is impressive. Nice use of the shutter at 1/2 a second and the aperture at f/10. TFS, Lisa.

Olá Aires. Tenho uma foto com este pov, um pouco mais à frente ao pé da bicicleta pintada no chão mas não tem nevoeiro :). Ficou muito engraçada assim com os pontinhos brancos e o monumento quase a subentender-se. Muito bem Um abraço. Paulo
