During my last weekend, I did a trip to Sintra city. This is one of most interesting narrow streets od city

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, declared in 1995 (category Cultural Landscape) this magical place is dominated by steep mountains and lush forests which create a microclimate, always several degrees cooler than Lisbon, with a characteristically romantic mist, just like a fairytale.
The name “Sintra” has its origin in the word “Cynthia“, symbol of the moon in the celtic mythology. The Romans called it “Mons Lunae“, meaning “the hill of the moon“, and there were deeds sacrifices in its honour. This mystical stigma has been maintained until our times.
Sintra is a romantic getaway for people from all around the world, and has always been a place of election by kings and nobles as a country resort, and praised by writers and poets. Sintra has a wealth of cottages and manor houses, some of which now provide accommodation in the form of country-house tourism.
Sintra annually is visited by many tourists attracted by its natural beauties, by its monuments and by the history of the town and, at the same time, to take advantage of the assorted amount of beaches in the region.
Attractions include the fabulous Pena Palace (19th c.), the Castelo dos Mouros (built in the Arabian period, but reconstructed on the 19th century) with its breath-taking view of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the Seteais and Monserrate Palace, the Capuchos Convent, lost in the middle of the forest filled with histories of solitary monks to tell, and the summer residence of the kings of Portugal: Sintra’s National Palace, right in the city centre. Important and diversified Museums are also available to visit and delight in.
Sintra's confectionery deserves a special mention, particularly the travesseiros (puff pastes stuffed with a sweet eggy mixture) and the famous cheese-cakes (queijadinhas), which according to ancient documents were already being made in the 12th century, and were part of the rent payments.
For its environment, history, mysticism, architecture and lifestyle, Sintra is considered to be the most Romantic town in Portugal.

Várias vezes vou até Sintra e conheço bem esta vista. Parece-me que digitalmente ainda não fotografei talvez porque evito sempre fotografar na vertical como é este o caso. Mas aqui penso que é a melhor opção e ficou bastante bem. Talvez tivesse sido possível afastar-se um pouco mais só para tentar apanhar todo o arco. Mas outras fotos nascerão e esta é um bom registo do momento, das cores e do exótico invulgar. Em Sintra ainda tenho muito que explorar. Já tenho levado o meu cão e aconteceu que havia excursões de Japoneses que se encantaram com ele tirando fotos. Aliás eles tiram a tudo. Mas é estranho que sempre que lá vou lá sempre os vejo. Deve ser algum hotel que faz este programa. Cumprimentos. Domingos

Wonderful warm cold colour contrasts, between the yellow, and more subtle blue. Good sharpness & pov. I like the superb textural details on the fg stone path. Good shadow detail, also. Tfs!

Très bien disposées toutes les couleurs de cette composition.Ce jaune intense sous la voûte donne beaucoup de caractère à cette image.

Hello Aires,

Sintra is one of the few towns outside Lisbon I've visited, and I am always happy to see places and angles I've missed. What impressed me in Sintra were the pastel colors, including in this image. I remember well the fairy tail-like castle built in the 19th century, but also with these colors. You've chosen a superb vantage point, and place the opening between the walls at just the right place.

Magnificas estas rua estreitas de Sintra com os seus colorido e a sua arquitectura , gostei do ponto de visão com a rua a desaparecer na esquina do fundo , bons detalhes de arquitectura ,parabéns!!!

tudo bem contigo?
este deve ser "aquele" recanto que mais gosto em Sintra, e gosto de o ver pelas mãos de outra pessoa que não a minha, normalmente opto pelo arco de fora e a porta anterior do lado esquerdo enquanto que tu foste pela que fica mais no interior.
A diversidade de cores no mesmo enquadramento é outro factor interessante nesta tua foto, que obviamente gosto muito.
