This is also my 500th picture in TE

Gare do Oriente is one of the main transport hubs in Lisbon, Portugal. It was designed by Santiago Calatrava and built by Necso. It was finished in 1998 for the Expo '98 world's fair in Parque das Nações, where it is located.

It encompasses a Lisbon Metro station, a high-speed, commuter and regional train hub, a local, national and international bus station, a shopping centre and a police office.

The station bears considerable resemblance to Calatrava's earlier Allen Lambert Galleria within Toronto's Brookfield Place.

Oriente Station is one of the world's largest stations, with 75 million passengers per year which makes it as busy as Grand Central Terminal in New York.

Santiago Calatrava Valls (born July 28, 1951) is an internationally recognized and award-winning Valencian Spanish architect, sculptor and structural engineer whose principal office is in Zurich, Switzerland. Classed now among the elite designers of the world, he has offices in Zurich, Paris and Valencia

Me alegro que puedas hacer tantos Te-meetings...en BCN es algo más difícil ya que no me veo ni con Coco (y es mi vecino....). Bonito WS.

Good warm cold colour contrasts, between the amber & the blue, with excellent sharpness, & superb motion blur of the speeding commuter train. Wonderful lighting contrasts & framing. Tfs!

A golden photo for a golden career in TE!
Stunning light and colours, a fine and very interesting architecture, and a composition with a great sense of depth. If I may express a subjective opinion, I think it would have been a cleaner composition without the head of the lady.

Hi Aires,
I like your choice for #500, congratulations!
People are well placed there, dynamically in different positions. Taking the photo connects this to TE well. Two trains moving simultaneously gives a nice effect. And architecture there is great as said before.

primero, te felicito por tu foto 500 en TE.
Y sobre tu foto, es una toma a la hora azul con una realización técnica impecable, en la que has combinado la fantástica arquitectura de Calatrava con una iluminación dorada y un cielo aún azul, y además has añadido la acción dinámica de los trenes que pasan a gran velocidad y la vitalidad del fotógrafo intentando su propia composición.
Todo está perfectamente equilibrado en este trabajo, luz, color y grafismo. Excelente.

Legal encontrar amigos do TE, não é?! Pelo jeito, estavam gostando e fotografando! Muito bom incluí-los e a imagem da estação (que é linda) ficou muito boa, com luzes e cores interessantes e belas! O trem em movimento ficou um show! Aquela cobertura é muito bonita e quando estive aí fiquei alguns minutos a apreciá-la e a fotografá-la!

Ótima imagem para comemorar tuas 500 apresentações! A profundidade é excelente, tem-se até a impressão de 3D; a moça no primeiro plano e o movimento dos trens, acho que ajudam muito! Os tons dourados estão lindos.
O fotógrafo em cumplicidade com sua câmera e as arcadas vistas de baixo acrescentaram muito charme.

Olá Aires, deve ter sido desta visita que me falaste um dia quando nos encontramos na passadeira...curiosamente até estava em lisboa, mas tenho andado a mil com coisas para tratar antes de regressar a espanha. Vejo que continuas bem activo por aqui o que é bom sinal. Gosto deste retrato duplo em longa exposição, embora tenha segundos pensamentos em relação à cabeça da Anna. A estrutura do calatrava está espectacular com o céu azul como pano de fundo.
Parabéns pelo post 500. Eu já perdi esse barco há muito...
Muito fixe a foto do jantar :)

What I really like here is the combination between blue hour and the structure which looks like a golden one!
Personnally, I would have prefered the photo with your friends a little bit further, in order not to cut his feet, at least.
But still, I am glad to see that you had a nice TE meeting. To my mind, it is the essence of TE.

Hi Aires,
It is a nice shot of Gare do Oriente. Great catch of passing trains (blur) and rest of the station very sharp. A structure looks very light like most of Calatrava's projects. Pillars remind me to palms which support the roof.

The United States is lucky to have a few structures designed by Santiago Calatrava. They are in: Wisconsin--Milwaukee Art Museum, California--Sundial Bridge in Turtle Bay, Georgia--Symphony Hall Atlanta, New York--New York 80 South Condos, Illinois--Chicago Spire (it is on working now), and New York--World Trade Center Transportation Hub (it is on designing now).
I had pleasure to visit Milwaukee Art Museum and posted a couple photos on TE.

Hi Aires,
today we are just back from Portugal.
I have over 3000 pictures and plenty of other duties awaiting me at home...
I am very glad to be a model in one of your shots.
That was a perfect blue hour timing the sky is beautifully blue.
I really like it. Including people makes it really interesting.
I hope to start uploading something from my trip soon.
Thanks again for your time, it was a real pleasure to meet you both. I hope to see you in Dublin in the next future.
