Photographer’s Note
The sun is rising over the Tagus river in front of Alhandra, a small village some 20 kms north of Lisbon.
I used to enjoy this magnificent view almost everyday on my way to work. Not anymore! Sound barriers have been placed along the highway, and now we can only see green and yellow panels for more than 30 kms.
The Tagus river, once heavily polluted, is now becoming more and more “clean” as the industry on it’s banks has died on lack of competitiveness.
We do enjoy the clear waters, but a lot of people have lost their jobs…
