Just a sunset Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this photo almost nine months ago, it was a cold February day, but the sky was beautiful. It was taken at Cabo da Roca, the westermost point on the continent of Europe, which the poet Camões defined as "where the land ends and the sea begins".
Its geographical coordinates are:

Latitude - 38' 47' North
Longitude - 9' 30' West
Altitude - 140 m above sea level

It was the first time I took this kind of photo, so I would be grateful to have your opinion.

This is a well composed shot. My only suggestion would be to have underexposed a bit more to eliminate the washout of the sun and then have corrected for the darker photo in Photoshop.

It's not a spectacular sunset with astonishing colors, but i like the calm and peace this one expresses. Good compo.

Nenhum pôr-do-sol é apenas um pôr-do-sol, cada um é único e este também o é.

As nuvens fizeram um trabalho muito bom ao encobrir ligeiramente o sol e dar este efeito mais dourado, julgo que se não houvesse nuvens o mar reflectiria em demasia a luz e tornasse mais dificil de fazer a foto.

Nice result you got, Paulo, not bad for shooting against the sun - good effect of the rays of light emerging from among the clouds. The sun and its reflection are well placed in the frame, and the cloudy sky lends a good atmosphere. Like David said, for such shots you could try and step down the exposure a little (resulting in more detail being retained), and then do any necessary brightening-up in post-processing.

Very classical picture yet original. Clouds build up a nice perspective effect. Light diffracted through the clouds is nice.
