Photographer’s Note
Covão da Ametade is a large glacier valey that sits in one of the sides of our highest mountain, Serra da Estrela.
The photo shows a small leisure area right at the begining of the valey. The water is cristal clear, and at the far of the photo it jumps down in a small waterfall.
Being the only place with snow in Portugal, the mountain is crowded on weekends, so we took a day off and went there on a Wednesday, when we could enjoy it with tranquility.

The thumbnail size attracted my attention, it seemed a tunel. I am not good at making pedantic photo analysis, but the optical illusion of an arch is wonderful to my eyes. Congrats!

Hi Kurioso, a very nice composition! The reflections of the bare branches and trunks of the birch trees really make the photo alive and interesting, like a tunnel leading somewhere infinitely into the background. Thanks for sharing...Alex

É uma foto interessante com um bonito efeito de espelho na água. Gosto do tom azulado que transmite uma sensação de frio característica da serra.
