Photographer’s Note
Porta Nova
Today I’m five years on TE, and that means 5 years online! A good opportunity to return here to post a small series. I hope y’all are alright.
This pic was taken at the Porta Nova suburban railway station of Tavira. We were on our way to Vila Real de Santo Antonio. I really dug the striking juxtapo of the descending girl’s clothing and the grafitti (grafitti is pretty heavy on Algarve trains nowadays). And you might recognize the train, it’s the same throaty diesel DMU train that’s featured here.
Have a great start of the week.
The PCS3 work flow: I altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, using different layers, USM-ed, added a frame and resized, enhanced the edges on a 54 % transparent layer, merged the layers and did a gentle USM (0,7px, 21%) again.

Hey Bert, Isn't that funny? That I was just talking to you about posting something on TE since a long time? I never realized that it was already 5 years ago, so my 'Due Date' is near as well. (I just checked: my date is February 12....). TE has been a great place for both of us, WE became friends, and I made a lot of other friends all over the world. Besides, our TE-weekend was a highlight to me.
What I like is that the number is clear from graffiti, as if they have been very careful with that, (which is nonsense, of course), and the hand on the rail. It gives me a feeling that the girl is simply trying to escape. Dynamic!

Hi Bert,
Nice shot and good timing. It is as if after jumping off, and seeing the art on the train, she now doesn't want to let go! Very pleasing to see.
Have a good week too - Casper :)

Hey Bert,

Goed gedaan Bert, bedankt.
John

Hi Bert... This moment has a movie mood that I love, and what I mainly love is this hand on the right, full of mistery, reminds me to an old Hitchcock movie "The shadow of a doubt"... Great to have you around TE again.

Hallo Bert,

Lekkere scherpte all over!
Groet! Dennis

Hi Bert,
Congratulations for your 5th anniversary! I realized today, when I've read your note. I like this shot, very urban, very daily life, how it's usual in your beautiful gallery. I like the curious expression of the girl, between the general gray color and the explosion of colors and light in this "new" door... ironical titre for a very good capture! Thanks a lot, and I wish more and more years for you, in you life, and here in TE.
Greetings,
Angel.

Hello Bert. The snapshot is taken in the best way. It works dynamically and modern. Outstanding composes. In the close framework only the really important is to be seen. Top. Best regards, Wolfgang.
