Theme: My first, Sunday Papagolfades

Our Lady of the Castle church :-Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Castelo.
Atop the hill behind the town, on the site of a Moorish fortress captured in 1165, stands the restored medieval castle built in the 13th century by Dom Sancho II. Its five towers and walls protect something even older, the 12th century church “Our Lady of the Castle” which offers an example of popular rural religious architecture.
You may also visit the castle,
The XIII century Castle of Sesimbra and admire the beautiful view of the ocean, Sesimbra beach and scenery of this fishing town. Sightseeing of Sesimbra, seaside with crystal clear water and where we can have a glimpse of the fishing port.

You show here a wonderful Our Lady of the Castle church .
Splendid in white colour and a nice contrast witha wonderful blue sky.
You did very well addition the people before the church, this is for the scale.

This is a nice Papagolfade for this fine Sunday morning. Your composition is nice using the lines in the foreground to lead the eye into the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The trees frame the scene nicely and the deep blue sky provides a great backdrop for the shot.

Oi amigo,
Muito bonita esta pequena igreja , já a fui ai algumas vezes o lugar é muito belo e a visão dai de cima sobre Sesimbra e magnifica , bonito ponto de visão com estas linhas no chão , boa inclusão das pessoas ,gostei da tua pergunta mas não te sei responder bem aqui vai a minha ideia :) talvez o fundo está um pouco escuro ou devias ter apanhado um pouco mais a cara do pintor para que o chapéu e a camisa não terem ficado em grande plano ?, parabéns!!

Bom dia Filipe, parabéns pela tua primeira papagolfada de domingo. Lindíssimas as cores aqui e o contraste da igreja branquinha contra o céu polarizado. Só tenho pena de não haver mais desse céu azulinho. Gosto da inclusão das pessoas como é óbvio mas parece-me um pouco apertado em cima.

A lovely scene, a simple but colourful composition with strong contrasts. Nice cosy church of good proportions taken with a bright light that makes everything sparkle. Really a Sunday morning atmosphere.
I've seen also "the painter", on the whole is fine, but those three ladies in the backgrounds are a bit distracting from the main theme.

Another good entry into Ricardo's theme. I like the inclusion of the people and the pattern of the ground with lines that help to lead the eye to the pretty littlte church. Good light management on the bright facade.

il y a un début à tout, et pourquoi pas, à tes papagolfades dominicales, une tradition sur TE.
Une phot dans laquelle les couleurs sont intenses et vivantes,les lumières bien calibrées.
Dommage pour ce petit manque de netteT2;

Les papagolfades ont ceci de bien c'est qu'on peut les retrouver dans le monde entier. Ici c'est une réussite avec cette église bien blanche sur ce ciel bien bleu, un régal !

The plain exteriors of the church, architecture wise so typically Portuguese, stands out with it's white colours against the blue sky & the foliage. In fact the hint of red tiles contrast well with the polarised blue sky. I liked your older post from this place. It appealed to me a lot because of your POV. Good work!

Excellently build point of view for capturing beautiful view of Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Castelo. Its plain facade amazing with old textures and simply framed door and windows. Skillful addition of cobblestoned square and visitors. Have a nice weekend.

É uma bela duma Papagolfada! É admirável como aquele sol forte que deu a luminosidade fabulosa e as cores fortes não "queimou" completamente aquela fachada muito branca, com a pintura prestes a ficar em mau estado. As pessoas criam uma dinâmica interessante - um parzinho a caminhar para cá, um homem a encaminhar-se para dentro, todos muito pacatamente e seguindo os eixos marcados pelas linhas da calçada.

Não é que a perspectiva me pareça desagradável, mas está um bocado estranha. Usar estes PdV enviesados é em fachadas é sempre problemático, embora frequentemente resultem em compos mais interessantes que as perspectivas frontais e simétricas. Vou tentar um WS.

The presence of the persons has an effect of scale. The trees are framing well the church. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the architecture. The nice blue sky is sending a light which is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Filipe,

I like the clean lines in the architecture, enhanced by the use of colours on the building!
The large white areas are well exposed in the harsh sunshine, and the blue sky makes a great background...
