Reflection on History
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Took this picture in Marvão, a citadel like small town surrounded by strong walls from the XIII-XVIII century. Situated in Alentejo near the Spanish border, this incredible place lies 800 m above see level in the mountain range of S. Mamede, opening to amazing views. People use to say that from here, eagles are seen from the back. And they are right. Incredible is also the approach from below and the first look up at the walls and castle, a sight literally taken out of the “Lord Of The Rings” movie. Here, the reflection of the St. Mary Church from the XIII-XIV centuries. If you take a careful look, you will be able to identify the castle on the background. |
