[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yesterday I found a stall by the road selling strawberries (see it in workshop). I stopped and realized the strawberries were being harvested just behind the stall. I bought a boxed of fresh strawberries. They were smelling very nicely during the rest of the trip. At home I discovered they're among the best strawberries I ever tasted.
The location is Pegões Velhos (a.k.a. Santo Isidro de Pegões), on the road between the Alentejo and Lisbon (via Montijo), Southern Portugal.
The area of Pegões is now more famous by its good wines, but there are many other agricultural products, such as these strawberries and potatoes (sold also at the same stall). The region was settled more than 50 years ago by farmers from other parts of Portugal, in a project of internal colonization designed by the state, that I guess was unique in the territory of continental Portugal in the 20th century. Each family was granted a large plot of farming land and a house. Every house had the same nice design; we can see them nowadays all over the region, such as the two in background of this shot.
Perhaps you'd like to compare this picture with Strawberry Fields in California.

Hi Francisco,

lovely field. I can even smell the strawberries. I consider your note very useful!

Have a nice evening
Harriet

Hi Francisco
What an amazing picture of this filds good collors , composition and POV just great
best regards...

I am so envious; we have to wait at least another month before ours are ready in the garden. I agree nothing tastes quite as good as strawberries picked and eaten straight away. Most of the ones we buy in UK shops have been irradiated to make them keep longer, so we can't wait for the garden to produce this year's crop.
I like the low POV using the perspective of the rows of plants to lead the eye into the frame. The vanishing point leads right to the farmhouse. Competing with this year's tulip field images in Holland?
We also have places where you can pick your own (PYO) You pay by weight when you have finished, but they don't weigh the people before and after picking! ;D

Hola Francisco,

MarieLouise.

Bela foto, excelente post, Francisco.
ricardo
