Photographer's Note

Hello Denis.
you make a good point here and I wish the responsibles for tourism iin Algarve could see your note, as it's a non-portuguese person saying it, the pedestrian tourism is forgotten while hotels and big resorts keep on growing like mushrooms all along the coast.
Of course we can say this kind of infra-structures are needed to lodge the persons visiting the region but then you must give them more solutions then beach and golf and night clubs, as they do in most of the cases.
Your series around your last stay in Algarve show clearly that there many other interesting things to do besides that and there's a whole lot to discover.
I know there are some boat trips along the coast to discover the caves formed on the rocks along the shore line but I know too that most of them are at very high prices. So why not organizing pedestrian tours so that tourists and other persons staying there can discover things like you are showing today?
Finally the photo and title, it's a curious title you found out to it but that goes very well along with what you are showing, and the composition is very cleverly made, and when looking at it I was thinking "where is this kind of rocky formation?" as it really reminds, on a smaller scale, some of Colorado's rocky formations indeed.
The light brgins out some very interesting details and textures on the cliff and makes contrast a lot with the rest on top of it.
The WS photo is intresting to show how the real estate pressure keeps on bringing more and more buildings to the border, even of the high cliffs...
Cheers.

Hi Denis - This is really top class work. Magnificent colour and detail. The rich red rocks so detailed with erosion are beautifully complimented by the lush green plant life. A pleasure to see. Congratulations on a fine post. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Denis,
A lovely landscape shot from an effective point of view. I very much liked the colors and the patterns of the interesting rock formations. They form great contrast against the greenery. Whereas the sky up above have beauiful puffy clouds. The depth, sharpness and clarity are all top notch. Great work. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes,

Great composition with three prominent layers. I like how you captured this rock formation, contrasting with the green of the trees and the blue sky. Very well balanced and saturated colours.

bonjour Denis

Hello Denis
Spectacular location and beautiful light. Although this seems to have been shot at around midday, judging by the shadows, the harsh light is actually very appropriate for this dramatic landscape, well identified by your title. Great saturation and definition of the clouds as well: polarising filter, or P'shop?

Hello Denis,
It is very true, it could have been in the western part of Colorado. I have just been last year so I know. the warm earth tone, the beautiful trees, and the large clouds with brilliant blue sky.
Excellent quality shot with rich tone, great clarity and good composition. I love it.
I like the WS with the sea and city view too, but I think this one present the more natural side of it, and I like it better.

Bonjour Denis
These structures, I believe are created by wind erosion...you see similar structures in Madagascar as well! The POV & framing has been well achieved with the fine warm colours. Thanks for the WS as well
Best Regards
