Lagoa de Albufeira is located in the municipality of Sesimbra.
The pond is fed by freshwater streams of the Aposticha, and Aiana Blacksmithing, and seawater of connection to the sea, when the dunes is officially opened in the spring. It consists of three basins: the Great, the small and the Estacada. Reaches 15 meters maximum depth, the Lagoa de Albufeira is considered the deepest of Portugal.
Integra since 1987, the National Ecological Reserve, with an area of special protection for birds. It has excellent conditions for sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and canoeing. The beach is popular for surfing and bodyboarding
