Photographer’s Note

Different light (or almost lack of it) here. The low light of the afternoon ending, the smoothness of the bay's water, the feeling of peacefulness watching the silent bay, just with some boats hanging around while others lie on the beach.

No tripod on this one just put the camera on the handrail and hold it.

Good idea with this panoramic format for such a scene, well composed and balances with the place of this boat,nice contrast of colours and lights.

Hi Paulo,
After all that great show on the warmh of Portugese light, now you turn into some softer, i mean, more romantic waters :)
Anyway, those purple tones are another story in the book of colors, another episode of eye candy, and i like a lot, in another way compared to the yellow/orange compos. Three seconds "handrail" sharpness is amazing, who needs a tripod? :)

Hi Paulo,
I like the typical silver color of the water here, always there when the sun's already gone.
The composition with the foreground boats and the broad view is very good and so is the panio format

Bom dia Paulo, seria bonita mesmo sem o barco amarelo que está perfeitamente encaixado nesta agradável composição panorâmica. E também seria bem diferente...a proximidade daquele amarelo e vermelho virado ao contrário aviva esta cena adormecida dando-lhe um novo contexto. Já estou a imaginar a dificuldade de escolher o que incluiria numa composição se estivesse aqui. Gosto muito do barco do lado esquerdo e das luzes ao longe.

The low light adds to the moody feeling, and the image has a great feeling of depth thanks to the afternoon haze!
The simplicity of the composition s attractive and well balanced, and the boat in front adds the splash of colour that you (the image) need...

3 sec exposure on a handrail! Like this pano view where light is low & the yellow boat parked on the shore grabbing attention immediately because of the contrast with the otherwise subdued surrounding light. There's a different mood to this picture as compared to the earlier shots...more melancholic I feel. Like the different layers from the sandy shore to the bay waters, the other bank & the sky! Good work my friend
