Seixal TE Meeting 14/06/08

Farm of the Noble, whose foundation retraces to century XV, it always had agricultural functions and of leisure, appearing associated Paulo da Gama, brother of Vasco da Gama, have fixed in lands of the Seixal to attend the construction of caravel destined to the discovery of the maritime way to India. In century XVIII, was distinguished for its excellent orchards of citruses, with streets covered of wild trees and vine arbors.It is also distinguished for the magnificent Lake of Tide, that constitutes an almost only monument rare or in the Portuguese hydraulical architecture. It still possesss a chapel that was integrated in palacete in middle of century XX, in substitution of the other oldest one. The interior walls of the current temple are coated with tiles of century XVIII and reproductions also of this period. In 1952, palacete and streets of Farm had architectonics interventions directed by the Architect Raul Lino, having distributed tiles, by times, nominated Hispanic-Arabs, for some points of the property. Farm of the Noble it is property of the City council of the Seixal since 2001, and, of it enters some projectos foreseen for this space, is distinguished the International Center of Medal
